What is sociology? Sung-an Cho (조성안) Lecture(in 3/3) Review

In the Begining...

 I listened 'Invitation to sociology' lecture. Me and my friends had discussed about two topics: 'Why does fashion change?' and 'Why is Starcraft so popular in Korea?'
This two was always around us. But most of us don't consider this deeply. We usually don't ask question about question like this because we just live with this kind of things all the time.

Subject 1:Why does fashion change?
 Me and my friends thought that change of fashion is associated with a few steps of causes.
 First step is Evolution of Technology. And this step made Improvement of Economical situation. Thanks to this Improvement, Cultural Development also has been made possible. So because of all of these three steps, Individual Preference has been made.
 In addition with my opinion, Evolution of technology made Variety of Jobs. So as Job varies, then Fashion also have many variation. For example, my fashion in campus and my fashion in workplace is very different. With this reason, I think that Fashion Industry especialy played important role in fashion change. Because Fashion brands which trying to earn more income will show many different style to many people so that they can sell their products more. So because of this, fashion will be changed more frequently.

Subject 2:Why starcraft is so popular in Korea?
 Me and my friends thought that the popularity of Starcraft have relation with a few causes.
 At first, Developed Internet cafe Culture made this game popular. And with this culture, people who playing game in internet cafe wanted Quick game progression. But In spite of this speedy progression, Starcraft has Epic scale. So it made Starcraft attractive to many Koreans. And in my opinion, the Fast Introduction of this game also have contributed to Popularity of Starcraft. Starcraft is old game. So as this game is old, then in early times in Internet cafe many people could play few games and Starcraft would be one of good multiplayer game that can be played with companions(1vs1,2vs,2,3vs3,free for all...etc). And still it is fun to play! In my case, when I go to internet cafe with my freinds, if there is nothing funny, I usually say "Let's just play starcraft. Come on!" That would be usuall situation in most of internet cafe.

In the End....
 I thought that 'Invitation to sociology' is really hard and complicated lecture. But is wasn't that hard as i imagined, rather it was really fun to talk about given topic with friends. Discussing about many topics made me think about many things which I have never thought about. So it was good opportunity to think about near and small things that we can overlook. Through this progress, I could make my sight wider and deeper. And also I have decided to ask more question about more things that just passed by. So I cannot wait for next class! :)
