Week 1  3/3/2015  What is Sociology?  유태준(You tae joon)

The first topic of the week was "What is sociology?" after the fist lecture my concept of the sociology changed. Before lecure my concept of sociology was very narrow and closed minded.I just thought Sociology was the study about society. But after the lecture i figured that Sociology works in many fields and that Definition of Sociology can't be fixed. For example I learned Definition of sociology is the study of society, social relations, human behaviors, social life.Sociology can be applied in any quarters.

"Topic 1  why does fasion change?"

Fashion changes everytime. we never experienced the fixation of Fashion. During the lecture i discussed this issue with my group and our group concluded that Fashion changes because there are two kinds of people. The one who leads the fashion style(who actually produces new way of fashion) and  the one who imitates( not interested in producing unique styles. But i think they are interested in new way of fashion that are created by fashion leaders)

Also, there are many different reason concluded by other groups. one group concluded that Fashion changes because the technology progresses through the time. i totally agree with this. Because i think People have urge for being more comfortable and people also wants to overcome their physical weakness for cold. So nowadays we can find many kinds of clothes that are functional.(which are loved by all around the world)

"Topic 2  why is starcraft so popular in korea?"

when i was teenager everyone played starcraft. when i go to pc room, almost everyone was playing starcraft together. I played starcraft but i never considered why starcraft was so popular especially in korea. I saw a opinion given in lecture that korea's unemployment at 1990's caused the popularity of starcraft. But i don't agree with this idea. Because as i know , the gamers age were around teenager or young people in the twenties.   There can be older gamers(who are unemployed) but it is not the cause of starcraft's popularity.

my opinion about this issue is "starcraft  has become popular because of some great korean players."
The most interesting thing about starcraft is that gamers are not just interested in playing games.They are also interested in watching other gamers matches. Starcraft changed the trend of game. playing to watching. we all know that there are many great starcraft gamers at korea. this made korea mad at starcraft
