I learned about 'What is Sociology?' this week in Piotr Konieczny's class. I am interested in sociology, so I enjoyed this class. In this class, the first topic is 'Why does fashion change?' and second topic is 'Why is starcraft so popular in Korea?' I had thought that English isn't fun, but this class was very fun. And I liked the first topic.
TOPIC 1 . 'why does fashion change?'
What is fashion? Fashion is the way of dressing at a given time. If we see everyone wearing the same color or style, that is "In-fashion." Fashion is the total look of an individual of today. Though fashion evolves and some styles come back, it only applies "now". Even the retro fashion is never the same as before. Fashion has never been the same and will never be the same. Then why does fashion change? I think that Fashion changes because people change. We always want something new. Clothing changes for practicable reasons, for appropriateness, for the season, and for adaptation to our environment. In some cases the popularity of a fashion endures for many seasons because of a combination of these reasons. We can take blue jeans as an example. TOPIC 2 . 'why is starcraft so popular in Korea?'
Today, starcraft is so popular in korea. so our class debated about this topic. we thought that starcraft is popular in Korea because Korea people have hasty culture. In other words, starcraft is hasty game, so Korea people fit the game. Also, In Korea, internet cafe culture is developed very well. so Korea people of all social stratum can enjoy internet cafe. As a result, Korea people can easily encounter internet cafe, so Korea people can easily enjoy internet game including starcraft.
I didn't like English, but this class was very interesting! I don't know about internet game, so the second topic(about starcraft) is hard to me. But I am interested in fashion, so the first topic(about fashion) is very fun. I expect that next class will be fun and this class will be very useful to me.
Wow your definition of fashion is really interesting!The mention that It applys 'now' is impressive. And on second topic,your opinion that hasty culture of Korean contributed to popularity of Starcraft is really good!
ReplyDeleteIf you want to be good at starcraft, you should equip motor on your hand. you are right. starcraft is hasty game. I`m not good at english spaeking. and I don`t like english too. let`s try to have interest in english together!
