Is our modern world more peaceful than the past?
In our daily life, we usually don't feel danger.We don't say hello to our freinds like "Oh you're not killed yet!" and say goodbye like "Don't be dead man tonight!". So it seems like our modern world is peaceful. Actually there are few massive conflict. Civil war or revolution is not daily.
But, this modern world is not so peacful. In the past, millitary force and scale of the country(kingdom) were usually show country's power. So country usually tried to conquer others. That was viollent, but in positive aspect, conquest bonded people together. People in group called each other a brothers and sisters. In modern times however, there are no war for conquest. But in everyday life we usually compete each other. It seems modern people cooperate. But actually, they are not bonded like past. People consider each other as a tool and opponent to beat. So our everyday life in modern world is conflict and competition.
