Korea is one of the most homogenous countries in the world. In the past Korea, single ethnic was the center. So, Korea was economically difficult. But, through industrialization, Korea has become economically rich. Accordingly, a lot of foreigners have been moved to Korea that live in comfort. There is now about a 1,000,000 foreigners leaving in Korea. Recently, a multicultural family has significantly increasing in Korea. According to the statistics, there are approximately 30,000 mixed-race children in Korea. Korea society, which was the center single race in the past, did not easily accept the multicultural families. So, Koreans tend to discriminate against them. For example, in Korea, including around the world, employers paid small salary to foreigners, but force a lot of work.  Also, using the jargon, foreigners are alienated in Korea society. Thus, discrimination of foreigners and multicultural families is stronger so that it is not visible.

Discussion

(extra blog topic. Reference : Prezi Intro 10.1 Glob5. 1. Racial and ethnic stratification)

1. Are the mixed-race children facing discrimination?

Yes, I think that the mixed-race children are facing discrimination. Because Korea is one of the most homogenous countries in the past. Koreans claimed a single ethnic group from the past. Children of multicultural families living in Korea can not be approached easily because of single ethnic thought of Korea. When the mixed-race children enters the group of Korean society, first receive the discrimination for skin and speech etc... Finally, by being subjected to discrimination, they are marginalized in Korea. So, they have no choice but to leave Korea.
There is a legal system or law for the mixed-race children, but actually it is not protected properly. Therefore, the most important thing is the change in our recognition. By giving them a warm interest, in Korea society, people should help so they can better adapt.
