Glass ceiling
The Glass ceiling is gender discrimination in company. In other word, When people advance in office, the man advances in office easily but the woman almost does not advance in office. The reason of Glass ceiling is various. First, I think that the Glass ceiling was influenced by Confucianism. Because Confucianism was state religion of Joseon Dynasty. These Confucianism regarded that the man is more important than the woman. Then Although the man and woman’s ability is same, people of Joseon Dynasty think that the man is better than the woman. Therefore, I think that the Glass ceiling is influenced by Confucianism. Second, I think that the Glass ceiling relates tot social role of the woman, People think that the role of the woman is housework, babysitting and so on. So In company, the boss think that the woman will give up the own position for motherhood. Therefore, the company prefer the man. But these problem can solve though welfare reform in company. For example, If the woman employee gets pregnant, she maybe can’t commute everyday. In this situation, the company can help her, by telecommuting. The telecommuting is benefit to both company and the woman. But the woman efforts to bridge a physical gap and take responsibility for own position.
