In traditional family, father's role was very important. father had to read whole family members. And when family members decided important family events, father's opinion was powerful, so family members had to follow father's opinion. Father must manage livelihood, too. On the contrary, mother's role was vastly different from father's role in traditional family. Mother had to do housework including house cleaning, dish - washing, and so on. And in traditional family, mother was influenced by the Confucian culture, so mother had to follow father's opinion. But It was very similar with modern family that son and daughter had to do in traditional family. Son and daughter had to be good to their parents, and readily obey their elders. Also brothers and sisters had to have a close loving relationship. And grandfather's role was very similar with father's role. Grandfather's power was very powerful like father in traditional family. Also grandmother's role was similar with mother's role. But some bad grandmother forced mother many household, so mother might be very hard. As a result, traditional family can be explained with patriarchal system and Confucianism culture.
