Family traditional role

 

Traditional role of korean family relate to confucianism.

Confucianism was state religion of Joseon.

Confucianism emphasized family hierarchy.

Therefore the role of family member is certainly different in Joseon dynasty. Grandfather and father ‘s rank was the highest in family of joseon dynasty.

So they were very patriarchal.

Thus, the mood of house was authoritarian.

Also they were severe on their kids.

In house, Their role resemble strict teacher.

Grandmother and mother’s role was doing housework.

So they only stayed at home.

Also they were passive to man’order.

Lastly the role of children was different based on gender.

Son’s role was studying but the role of daughter only was staying at home.

In the past, man’s role and woman’s role was very different.

But today woman can work like man also can study.

The other way, mam is doing housework like woman.
