 People continue to live with daily communication. Recently, the population has been increasing and the exchanges between nations have become active. So, in today, 'SNS'(social networking serive) has become important. SNS that we are primarily used is 'Facebook', 'KakaoTalk' and 'Twitter' etc....

Thanks to development of the SNS, communication has become more active between people. However, there are many advantages of SNS, but there is also a side effect.

 

 

 What is the 'SNS' ?

 A social networking service (also social networking site or SNS) is a platform to build social networks or social relations among people who share interests, activities, backgrounds or real-life connections. A social network service consists of a representation of each user (often a profile), his or her social links, and a variety of additional services. Social network sites are web-based services that allow individuals to create a public profile, to create a list of users with whom to share connections, and view and cross the connections within the system.

 

The advantages and disadvantages of SNS

1. The advantages of SNS

 (1) It(SNS) helps to convenient communication between neighbors and friends. It is possible to know a recent through Facebook and KaKaotalk. Then, it is possible to see the other people`s photos and texts. It is an opportunity to become even more intimate relationship between people.

 (2) We can be obtained information easily and quickly. TV and radio have time constraints but, SNS reduces time constraints than TV and radio. This is called "Immediacy of information."

 (3) Through the SNS, it is possible to enjoy the entertainment and shopping. Because the best advantage of the SNS is convenience.

2. The disadvantages of SNS

 (1) Due to SNS, infringement of personal privacy is a concern. Because friends, neighbors and people around the world can see thier own space.

 (2) It offers a quick and much information, but the accuracy of the information is low. Because information is too many. Also, This is because there is case that someone spread the false fact.

 (3) etc...

 

Impact of SNS on our society(connected to our course)

 According to development of economy, technology etc...in today, life of people has become more convenient than the past. Also, the population has been increasing, so interactions between people and nations have become active. Because of too many of population, people want to effective communication and the internet has helped this. Recently, internet usage has increased explosively. For example, through Fackbook, Twitter and Instargram, people around the world communicate. SNS extends a social network of contacts and becomes a great help to an effective communication.    
 However, I was focused on negative side. people around the world can see their own space. In addition, the false fact created a cyber violence. For example, in the comments, because of crowd psychology, people attack a specific person(star, entertainer etc...).  In social, senseless using of SNS can lead to suicide problems. Also, it is impossible to improve the social life because of trauma.
 We live in the information society, so we are accustomed to the use of SNS. But, Adult(40~50age ↑) feels the difficulty of using the SNS. Because in the adult generation, there was no thing called the internet. Disparity of using the Internet and information gap produce a conflict between generations. Older generation considers SNS in terms of negative side, on the other hand, new generations somewhat considers SNS in terms of positive side. According to the actual investigation, the Internet usage rate of the elderly is very low.
