Conflict - 안지영 (An Ji Young)

Conflict is some form of friction, disagreement, or discord arising within a group. Conflict usually occurs on micro scale, meso scale, and macro scale. First, micro scale means conflict between individuals and meso scale means conflict between groups. Lastly macro scale means conflict between societies. In macro conflict, there are war, revolution, civil war, and terrorism. Firstly, war is a state of armed conflict between autonomous organizations or coalitions of such organizations. Secondly, revolution is a fundamental change in power or organizational structures that takes place in a relatively short period of time. Thirdly, civil war is a war between organized groups within the same state or republic. And lastly, terrorism is commonly defined as violent acts intended to create fear, perpetrated for an economic, religious, political, or ideological goal, and which deliberately target of disregard the safety of non-combatants.

Our discussion was about terrorism. The topic was "Why is terrorism seen as such a danger, if so few people have been affected by it?" It is because, although terrorism have been hurt or kill so few people, it is very influential. And people think terrorism is unrealistic and they can't prevent it because no one knows when, where, and how the terrorism happens.

  1. I think that your argument is very simular with mine. I, too think that the danger of terrorism is in the unexpective characteristic of terrorism. In addition, I think terrorism is dangerous because terrorists do terrors to claim their extreme idea to the world. There may be other people who agrees with the idea and decide to act like the terrorist.
