Main Topic : Social Movement 


  In this class, we learned about 'social movement'. A social movement is a broad collection of individuals and organizations working together to effect change. Also, my professor says that a social movements include organizations, individuals, and in some ways entire populations, so social movement is difficult to define. And Types of social movements are very various. Sociologists distinguish between several types of social movement : by targets, by emthods, by range, by scope, by type of change. I answered some questions about social movement. This topic about social movement is so interesting to me. So, I will choose one question and write the answer in this posting. 


Question Topic : What are the characteristics of modern social movements in Korea?


  Social movements emerge as so various types in Korea. But from not only organizations but also individuals perspective, social movement is so important in Korea. Generally, social movements can lead social development. Many people meet to do social movements because they want to change our society. In not only Korea but also other countries, our societies are not complete. So our society needs to be changed. In Korea, modern social movements are done to keep rights of the old and the infirm, women, the disable, etc. It can lead our society stronger. Also, our society can be developed thanks to modern social movements. Therefore, I think that social movements have to be actived in Korea.
