In 'Invitation to sociology' class, I learned about 'culture'. Cultur
e is a really interesting topic. Particularly, I was interested in the 'brand'. Brand has the essential value in our lives. When we buy the goods, we consider the brand that fit to us.
In addition, brand creates a subculture. As people who like one of the brands want to create a group, their subculture and subgroup are formed.
For example, 'ROLLS ROYCE' , 'NASCAR' and 'HARLEY-DAVIDSON motorcycle' and so on......

Summary

 Brand : A brand is a name, term, design, or other feature that distinguishes one seller's product from those of others. Brands are used in business, marketing, and advertising. Initially, livestock branding was adopted to differentiate one person's cattle from another's by means of a distinctive symbol burned into the animal's skin with a hot branding iron. A modern example of a brand is Pepsi which belongs to PepsiCo Inc.

My thought (Korean youth culture)

 The most famous brands in the korean youth culture(subculture) is a 'THE NORTH FACE'. Perhaps, some people will not wear this brand, not those who do not know the brand. In youth culture,
their mimic psychology is strong. So, they are going to be based on act of other people. In this way, young people wear a lot of uniform and fashionable brand. If brand to create a group together with favorite person each other, there is the advantage that it is possible to inform the brand to others.  On the other hand, unfortunately, people who did not enter the favorite group of brand can feel a sense of alienation. Thus, the brand is a necessity in our lives.
