Intro

This week, I learned about 'modern slavery'. In class, I watched TED documentary. I was shocked to see the TED of modern slavery. Because I knew that it(slavery) is had events in the past. Also, I thought slavery was abolished. By the way, unlike my opinion, in today slavery is still existed as invisible. In the past, mainly slavery forced physical labor. But, in today, slavery forced physical and mental labor. Let`s see more detail the modern slavery.

Modern society

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavery

Modern society developed with pursuing freedom. Accordingly, people interested money and power. Entrepreneurs request the labor to workers. Because entrepreneurs have the management rights of the company. On the other hand, according to the command, workers work to earn the money. In such a process, entrepreneurs impose forced labor to workers. In our society, it is possible to easily find. For example, this is the Korea convenience store part-time job. In fact, the convenience store president paid less wages than the minimum hourly rate to part-time job. And they force too much labor. Although there is a law that minimum hourly wage, in reality, that is not protected. Thus, wealth people become even more rich, but poor people are even poorer.
Although it will be difficult to eliminate the modern slavery, first, it is necessary to improve the system. We must amend the law to protect workers`rights. In addition, it must be even more impressive the minimum hourly wage.
However, the most important thing is the change in people`s recognition. We should be protected the rights and interests of workers. Slavery system is never disappear, but we must strive for the abolish of slavery.

  1. I am regretable. I agree with you. The rich get more wealth and the poor get more poverty. I think this framework of society must be changed.
