Intro

 This week, I learned about 'Gender stratification'. In past, gender discrimination issues frequently had been raised in Korean society. For example, "women there is a limit of having a job"is a stereotype of such. However, as time has changed, new women advance to the various professions such as business, politics(launch into politics). In addition, Men not only women to together the housework. As age changes, these gender discrimination problems are more and more relaxed. Let`s examine in detail about gender stratification through blog.

Recognition of the generation about gender stratification

 At first, the older generation is very sensitive to gender issues. They tend to enjoy the culture only of themselves. So, they think that gender discrimination is a matter of course. They are considered that women should help so that it can men better job. These older generation go through a new generation and a lot of conflict.
On the other hand, a new generation is a free-spirited about gender issues. In the modern society that emphasizes freedom and individuality, they are not much distinction between the role of gender. They try to break down stereotypes on gender through a lot of effort. For example, they approve of gender discrimination abolition law. Also, in order to provide the correct perception of gender to the people, they do the various campaigns.
Thus, the older generation and the new generation is not to assert only their position, they must strive to make a relationship that can coexist with each other.

Topic1 :What other gendered cultural symbols can we think of?

 I think that gender stereotype is still existed. To make it easier to understand, Let an example of the athlete. Some people "because athletes should be strong force, rather than women, men must"have a stereotype. However, women without yielding to this, demonstrated the ability that they had excellent favorite events. Thanks to these efforts, athletes has become possible to broaden their abilities without undergoing gender discrimination.
Thus, compared to the old days, "that men are better than women" - these stereotypes have disappeared.

Topic2 : Why fewer women enroll in college/university in korea than men?

I thought that the number of advance of the university of men and women is similar. However, learned the lesson, I become to know that my thought was wrong.
This question has been put the gender discrimination content.
In the past, confucian society of korean, women learned that they must do housework than study. Also, in the past, people thought that men must have power and intelligence than women. So, women can not realize their dreams, they helped men to be able to realize the dreams. From changing the older generation to the new generation, stereotype that women should only housework was reduced(it is not disappeared altogether). Thus, for these reason, men tend to be more advance to the university than women.
