cultural symbols can we think of?
I think our society has many
gendered cultural symbols.
For example, if boys want to be
nurse, nail artist, makeup artist, society think negatively. And if girls want
to be military officer, firefighter, society think negatively. English language
has many gendered symbols term in job. One is fisherman. Fisherman mean professionally
catch fish. But word predicate Catching fish is man’s job. Two is fireman.
Fireman mean prevent fire and rescue people in danger. This word also predicate
preventing fire and rescuing people is man’s job. The reason why gendered cultural
symbols occur is based on our society without our knowledge like word.

and gender.
I think lego is virile toy.
Because finished lego model is combatant, car, pirate ship, combat plane, tank.
Most of them symbolize masculineness. And society emphasize dexterity to boys
more than girls. In this respect, lego is good toy to develop dexterity. In
comparison with lego, Barbie doll is feminine toy. Society emphasize feminine and
decoration to girls. And Barbie doll fill this societal expectations.
