Introduction

There was blackout in our class on Monday. We couldn’t use computer and look the slides of the lecture. But we saw the crisis as an opportunity and took advantage of it by discussing about that situation. I think it was a good experience. Then, let’s look into the effects of blackout and the importance of electricity.

My answer of the question

Q. What happens if electricity is gone?

Events, great and small, occurred if electricity is gone. Firstly, anything which is run by electricity won’t work very well. For example, all the lights will go out and we’ll be left in the dark. We also can’t use computer, television, refrigerator and so on. The power cuts bring underground and parts of the rail network to a standstill for hours. In severe cases, surgery, X-rays or other treatment vital to a patient's health or life may come to a halt and so the patient could die. (Of course, if there is an Emergency Electric Power Sources, it doesn't matter.) Meanwhile, the blackout can result in any collateral damage such as a fire.

Q. Why electricity is important?

As we can see above, it’s because electricity takes a big part of our lives. It is definitely affecting more and more aspects of our lives. Electricity is something that most of us take for granted. But, without electricity, everything stops literally.

Conclusion

We sometimes don’t recognize the importance of the simple things in our lives that we take for granted. By discussing some questions in this week, I realized the importance of electricity and value of things around us. We should not have to take it for granted and should feel great. It is possible by assuming that those things do not exist and thinking of how those things affect our lives.
