Social movement Tae joon You 유태준
Tae joon You 유태준 social movement
INTRO
At this week(monday) we experienced blackout. I was surprised a little bit because i ve never experienced this kind of blackout. It was impossible to have lecture and we discussed why electricity is important and what happens if electricity is gone. it was a good experience i think. And next day i learned about social movement which is hard to define. Because social movement includes so many things. it can't be defined in one specific term. And i think social movement is the most complex phenomenon in our society because we are all involved in this movement in any ways. How we consume products and how we talk, think makes difference in our society.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE ISSUES THAT MODERN KOREAN SOCIAL MOVEMENTS ARE CONCERNED ABOUT?
I think the most important issues are always about politics. There was a big social movement which is done by many college students and civilians. the name of this social movement is called "Resist at June" This happend at 1987 because korean people are sick of dictatorship which is done by president Jeonduhwan.Korean people wanted to vote for their own president. This social movement made korea's law different which is more reasonable and lasts for nowadays. The law introduced direct election system. Koreans consider this social movement as victory of democracy.
