I think that Requirements of democracy are six.
First, People should be able to exercise absolute authority over the person one vote universal suffrage.
Second, Must be at least two parties can nominate candidates for the election and the political program.
Third, The State shall guarantee the civil rights of all members. Including freedom of the press.
Fourth, Government policy should be to the welfare of the people.
Fifth, The State shall ensure the effective leadership and responsible criticism.
Sixth, Regime change must be done in a peaceful way.
At first glance, These six topics progress well without big problem.
but In practice, there are major problems, as opposed to the will of the people.
Of course, compared to the past, freedom of the press is good. but Still, I do not think that is complete freedom of the press guaranteed.
Senior executives of media companies have connection with Politician.
And, Even the criticism of the country, often still ignored. Even if the big issues, the gorvenment is to spread the bigger issue to forget the issues that gives disadvantage to gorvenment.
So I think it is important that the will of the people than in the past. But still, I think that it should not only rely on the people.
