What is sociology?(5)- Kim Jae Hoon(김재훈)

Topic : How will the technology change our lives in the future?

Let's look at the history of the development of the technology.

First Industrial Revolution took place between the 19th century in England in the 18th century. Invention of the steam engine to the beginning, the world was booming. In particular, textile technology, the steam engine, the development of iron technology has brought great transformation, which also had a great influence in society.

The Industrial Revolution changed the economic structure and political structure.
The aristocratic system and holding system collapsed, the election law was amended. Chartist movement had occurred, society has changed gradually to a liberal system.
The city's population grew exponentially, jobs have increased.
However, there were also negative part. Unsanitary conditions and air pollution, materialism, etc., continued to increase in the negative part.
We can think through the previous example.

On the positive side:

-convenient life:
Over the past five years, technology has developed at a rapid pace.
Samsung Electronics' Omnia 2, and Apple's "iPhone" was released in 2009.
Five years ago, few smartphone users.
Now all that most people use smart phones.
Technological evolution speed of the phone is very fast.

This also applies to the other areas. 'Electronics, medical, automotive, residential, and so on.

 ('Robot maid' comes)
The following video is a news in 2010. Soon we will be seeing a 'Robot Maid'. Also, we will be liberated from housework.

- The development of medicine

1492, Columbus discovered the New World and at the same time, smallpox has been spread.
India, Southeast Asia, Africa, the nearest patients were occurring in 100,000 people annually, etc. South America, Korea also suffered a lot of damage.

British scientists since Edward Jenner's cowpox Act invention, in 1980, was the WHO(World Health Organization) declared smallpox eradicated.
Even after Pasteur's rabies vaccine, typhoid and cholera vaccine, tuberculosis vaccine, hepatitis vaccine and many vaccines have been developed.
If without the development of such a vaccine technology, mankind would not develop this.

Future technologies will increase our life and will reduce the mortality from the disease.

Negative aspects:

- Deepening of class society

Most of the modern state is a democracy.
But this is also capitalism.
Capitalism has created an informal class society.
Development of technology has a potential that it make to be exacerbate.
Like the conflict of the proletariat and the bourgeoisie, the future may result in a conflict to differences in technology. We will need to note this.
