This week, I learned about the social relationships and socialization and social structure.

I agree with your opinion. As you said, biography is a good example in which we can see socialization of gender role. I think we can also see the society the society tells us how different things are expected from boys and girls through game. In general, boys enjoy playing a violent shooting combat game or a racing video game. They play such a game and internalize the maleness. On the other hand, girls mostly play game related to dressing their dolls. Girls learn sensitivity of female and internalize social convention that women should be modest.
ReplyDeleteBiography is very fresh example. Simsaimdang is representative saint woman of the republic of korea. So in school or household, girls expected to act like simsaimdang and they learn so from adults. But I think this is gender discrimination.
