Topic: is modern democracy really 'the will of people?'
no. I think today's democracy no more represents people's will. Democracy means that people have the
right and can decide policy. But today's democracy isn't 'pure democracy'
There is two kinds of democracy. 'Representative democracy' and 'Pure democracy'. Pure democracy is the first democracy in the history and it means literally democracy. In ancient Athens,citizens gathered in the Agora Square, and make policy all together. This is the starts of democracy. But it has difficults in wide nation.
It is difficult to gather all the people in country. So the Representative democracy bigins. People elected their spokesman. And elected politicians have worked for the country. But it can't represent everyone. Some might want other way but politicians have to choice one.
This is why I think modern democracy isn't the will of people. It only represents some people who have power.

I read well your blog. Although people of the will of modern democracy has not been reflected, I do not think so.Until achieve a modern democracy, there has been a constant in the resistance of the people. For example, there is a demonstration and wall newspaper activities. People for achieving modern democracy resisted dictatorship and so on, these processes reflect the people`s will of modern democracy.
