How To being an member of the society and unify the society?

- To sustain society, social cohesion (or social intergration) must be guaranteed. Social control system and socialization are two key means of accomplishing social cohesion.

- Socialization (Micro Level)

: refer to the lifelong process of inheriting and disseminating norms, customs and ideologies, providing an individual with the skills and habits necessary for participating within his or her own society

Infants, the first stage of the human life, are socialized mainly within the family. When this type of socialization fails, people can not growing properly. family's roles are very very important.

Media, like TV, Internet, can influence to individual any way. media show the world in some way. people learn how to make perspective on every issue.

Q1. Color pink is associated with girls. why?

Color-bias is absolutely the by-product of gender socialization. color itself doesn't has any meaning. color pink is regard as 'feminine' by media and manufacturer, and we are socialized.


- Social control (macro level)

: regulation of individual and group behavior in an attempt to gain conformity and compliance to the rules of a given society, state, or social group.

 socialization is very important, but when it fails, social control steps in. It consist of both carrots and stick approached. when moral agencies commit anti-social behavior, they will be sanctioned. otherwise, they will be rewarded.

The reasons why people commit bad behavior are....
High population
High differentiation
High inequality (most important factor of social disorder)

These three factors hinder social cohesion and make alienation and anomie.

1. Alienation (By Karl Marx) :  'Systemic result of capitalism'. It makes community collapsed. people do not concern each other.

2. Anomie (By Durkheim) : breakdown of the social bonds. ocurred when the society has undergone significant changes. discrepancy between ideal condition and actual accomplishment. Most popular indicator of anomie is suicide rate, because it reflects the confusion of society.

I think that suicide in south korea can not be only the individual factor. We need to approach them socially. Therefore, social welfare policy must be enacted properly. Society changes fluently, so its flow will make many victims that can't accustomed with that flow. Consequently, economy is going bad and unemployment skyrocket.
