This week, I learned about religion to sociology. I will going to talk two topics about religion that we discussed in our class.
What functions religion may have?
Religion deeply entered into our lives. This have good thing and bat thing in our life. I brought two kinds of my thinking about functions of religion. First, religion gives rest of mind to people. When we painful living in this dirty world, some people try to find god. Because they used to get psychology stability from their god that they worship. Human needs a place to rely on. Second, religion is used to control the people. In the middle ages, Pope`s authority is higher than King`s authority. Some Pope abused his authority. Religion became powerful weapon that controls social and people.
Can you think of other examples in how religion can be used to control people?
In the past, Korean importantly thought confucionism. So ancestors have learned about ethics from their elders. These actions bacame costom. And this costom has been transmited in today. People are unconsciously controled by confucionism. This link has information about confucionism. If you want to know this religion in detail, I recommends that you read it.

I read well. The answer to the first question was similar to me. So I went more sympathetic. The answer of the second question is also almost the same. Perhaps because the discussion was like. This was going to post a lot of sympathy.
