I discussed some topic about Korea with classmates.
One of the topic is 'Example of cultures that were nottolerated in Korea in the past but became accepted in recent years?'
In 1970s, Korea didn't allow a short skirt and men's long hair. Police inspected people in the city. And people who took to the checkpoint, was arrested for misdemeanor violation. At that time, because the country had all the power, it was that possible. In recent years, women wearing a short skirt and men let their hair grow long.
In Chosun age, people didn't allow the man to housework and the woman had a job and recieved an education. Of course, women there is a profession also had. But it was one that has not been allowed to man, such as nurses and chefs. It was because Korea was thorough Confucianism nation. But nowdays, men helps housework and women receive education, have variety jobs.
I read well your blog. Women`s rights from the Joseon Dynasty to modern times have been ignored. In this part, it seems to have a think like me. Perhaps, liberalism is entered, women to obtain the right to enjoy the freedom, also became necessary many women human resources. Maximum of example that women`human rights has been improved, most of the elementary school teacher is a woman.
