We discusse many subject about religion in class.

1. What functions religion may have?

 We discussed this question. And we think of many answers. First is that religions make people relaxing. For example many people believe in religion in poor countries. Because many people is unhappy in poor countries. A similar story religions give people psychological stability.
 Second people make community in religion. In the other direction, religions is common interest.
That is why people in religion make up the community. People well as a variety of activities, except for religious activities. For example many community exist in church. Many communities in church are a variety of fields such as sports activities, music and theater. Church choir is also one of them. 

 

2.Can you think of other example in how religion can used to control people?

We think of Cnfuciansm. South Korea has been heavily influenced by Confucianism. Many norm is Confuciamism rule in South Korea. The children learn the Confucian etiquette to my parents since we are little.To do that, Korea, people were naturally dominated by Confucianism. For example Child uses the honorific for adults. This was influenced by Confucian heritage Jiang. It is also exemplified adults to bow down to the New Year.
 Another example is Cult. In the world there are many cult. Events that took place in other countries is also a collective suicide. The reason for this is that the cult was hierarchical command. In Korea, a cult requires a lot of money. After collecting a lot of money and fled abroad. These are extreme examples in the control of religion.
