I learned about Structural-Functionalism, Conflict Theory, Symbolic Interactionism, Exchange theory,Social network theory, Feminist Theory
Structural- functionalism is a social entity can be viewed as an organism. Conflict theory is where the functionalist theories focus on how parts of the system work together, conflict theories, focus on the conflict between those parts. Symbolic interactionism is the focus on the microworld, such as the interactions within one's family. social network theory goes beyond the structure and actors dychtomy, and focus on the analysis of the relationships between them. Exchange theory assumes that humans are rational more often then not and that actions are based on cost- benefit analysis. Feminist are concerned with the treatment of women and the experience of opperesion and inequality
Topic1: Compared to world average, Korean people are not very religious, value hard work, vlaue material, physical well being over more spiritual well being. Would you agree?
I agree with that opinion. Korea does not have a centralized religion, unlike the Middle East(Hindu, Muslim,) and Europe(Catholic). because korea is many kinds of religions and There are people who do not have a religion.
South Korea is a highly competitive country. So they work hard to get more than others. Koreans think only I have to live with material wealth. Materialism is serious when Society becomes more severe, tough competition.
Topic2: Can we think of examples of cultures that were not tolerated in Korea in the past but became accepted in recent years?
example1: Mini skirts
Mini skirts are known in Korea in the 1960s. But Police measured the length. Because of the design showing the thigh. Also adults do not see the mini skirt with nice eyes. However, today Mini skirts were popular. People often wears and you can see frequently in the media.
example2: Tattoo
Tattoos that inscribed on the body were not allowed in the old days. Tattoos for old people are not accepted. But, Today tattoo became popular among young people. Tattoo were popular. even emerge the profession of Tattooist.
I read your posting interesting! I have anther opinion for tattoo.Korea seems to have not changed yet this perspective on the tattoo. Korea still has many tattoos, they can`t go army. Many people glance at people who have many tattoo. korea has not yet better perspective to tattoo.
