The first day of "Invitation to Sociology" lecture learned about concet of sociology and we also had a time to debate about two questions. First question was "what does fashion change?" and the other one question was "why star-craft game so popular in korea?" These questions were very fresh to me. Because I haven't thought about this sort of questions.
first question : "what does fashion change?"
There are various reasons for fashion change. common person do not wonder these reasons. So this question is so fresh and interesting. And discussion time was very good opportunity that i heard various opinion about this question by debating togethe.
1. I think that change of fashion is connected to economic condition of socio
For example mini skirt became a trend ,when the depression also lipstick became fashionable, when the depression because lipstick is cheaper than other cosmetics. ("Lipstick Effect")
(화장품 = cosmetic,불경기 = depression)
2. I think that whenever there is a changing of the upper classes, fashion is changing too
Because the lower castes trying to resemble the upper classes. As a result fashion of all classes is changing.
second question : "why star-craft game so popular in korea?"
Before talk with my team member i didn't know star-craft well. So when i heard this question i was confused. But member who smart about this game explained to me about this game. So our team could talk well.
1. we think that the star-craft's popularity reason is pc room's development. this game is enforced first time at pc room. So people have no chance but to do a lot.
2. Also this game is good play with friends. students playing with friends solve their stress.
At the end
Before listening this class I thought that "Invitation to Sociology"lecture is difficult to me. Because this class is conducted in english. But after listening to the lesson my mind is eased by Piotor professor's favor (he explained slowly for us :-) ) But i felt that effort about english is required. So i would have to study english hard~~~
I agree that a lot of people envy the upper class. But I do not think the people of the upper class led the fashion. I think that Sometimes fashion of ordinary people leads the world fashion.

ReplyDeleteI agree your opinion!! Fashion is changed by high class!! Also fashion change is affected by economy! but i think fashion change seem to be more reason
